Fox Lake presents spaghetti dinner, 5K

Join Fox Lake Mayor Donny Schmit at the All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner Friday, Sept. 11, and Mayor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk Saturday, Sept. 12.

Not limited to runners and walkers, the community is invited to Fox Lake's Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Hall, 114 Washington St., Ingleside, for an elegant sit-down spaghetti dinner and raffles from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. The dinner kicks off the Mayor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk and participants can register on-site all evening long for the race.

The spaghetti dinner will serve as a perfect pre-race meal or to simply gather with friends for a great cause. Participants can carbo-load to prepare for the Pink Boa 5K Run/Walk that will begin the next morning at Millennium Park on the corner of Grand Avenue and Rollins Road.

Registration opens at 7 a.m., followed by a 7:30 warm-up with Epic Fitness. All participants will receive a pink feather boa in their race bag to support the cause in style.

Tickets for the spaghetti dinner event are on sale now at the village hall, 66 Thillen Drive. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for seniors and children ages 10 and younger. The race entry fee is $25, $15 for students younger than 17. Registration forms for the race are available online at www.foxlake.org and at the village hall.
