Elgin woman facing drug, weapons charges
An Elgin woman faces weapons and drugs charges after a raid at her apartment, Elgin police said.
A search warrant issued at 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of McClure Avenue uncovered cocaine, cannabis, drug packaging materials, a shotgun and numerous rounds of shotgun ammunition, Elgin police said in a statement.
Rainy Stafford was charged with unlawful transfer of a firearm to a felon after police learned she purchased the gun for a person known to be a felon, as well as unlawful possession of cannabis.
She was unable to post bond and was taken to Kane County jail.
