Water street District Sponsors Touch-a-Truck Event at Last Fling
Water Street District developers Marquette Companies will present a Touch-A-Truck event at Last Fling, Saturday, September 5th from 10 am- 1 pm at the Temporary Lot on the corner of Aurora Avenue and Webster Street opposite the Municipal Center and Naper Settlement Pre-emption House. Designed for big and little kids alike, the event will feature a variety of construction, municipal and emergency vehicles. Operators will be on hand to answer questions and help visitors get an up-close experience in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.
Visitors can get up close to Baumgartner Construction's Backhoe/Excavator and Dump Truck currently working at the Water Street District, a 1984 Pierce Dash Pumper Fire Truck, which was responder to the World Trade Center on 9 /11 and is now a Bike Bald ambassador for childhood cancer awareness, as well The City of Naperville Emergency Response Hummer and the Naperville Park District Police 4-wheeler ATV. Bike Bald will sponsor a kid's handprint activity on site.
"We know folks young and old are interested in our construction site at Water Street, and this way visitors to Last Fling can come over the covered bridge past the Township Building and see some of typical construction vehicles right here at the site," says Marquette Executive Vice President of Development Jeff Prosapio. "We're grateful for the support of Baumgartner Construction and the Bike Bald organization, and proud to partner with the Jaycees and support the family fun area being offered right across the street at Naper Settlement." Water Street District and Marquette Companies are proud sponsors of Last Fling.
