Schaumburg ready for National Night Out Aug. 4

The village of Schaumburg will host events from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, with Neighborhood Watch Groups, associations and interested neighborhood groups to mark the 32nd annual National Night Out, a night where the public is encouraged to come together to raise awareness about crime prevention and safety in the community.

Schaumburg dignitaries and police officials will be visiting block parties during the night, and the Schaumburg Barn will host a free intergenerational event from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 231 S. Civic Drive, where Schaumburg-area seniors and teens can enjoy pizza, ice cream and bingo.

The public can also attend the free Schaumburg Park District block party that will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. An open swim at the pool will be available from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
