Sign up for Kaneland Foundation's annual golf outing Sept. 17

Consider joining the Kaneland Foundation's annual golf outing on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Bliss Creek Golf Course in Sugar Grove. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon. Dinner with cocktails will be at 5 p.m.

It will be a four-person scramble with two divisions: men and mixed (at least one woman). There will be a variety of contests on different holes throughout the course including a 50/50 drawing, Par 3 betting holes and longest drive in fairway.

Since 2008, the Kaneland Foundation has provided more than $90,000 in grants to Kaneland teachers. Grants have provided support for: digital boards; tablets; Student Response Systems; "Flip" classroom video equipment; and SPARK science learning systems, consisting of probeware, software and chargers. The grants also supported community events and service opportunities, such as the Fine Arts Festival, Science Family Fun Night, summer library hours, district choral festival, family reading event, peer leadership program, homework help program, student programs, engineering program, Illinois Junior Academy of Science participation for eighth- graders; and student assemblies.

The Kaneland Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has contributed for decades to the educational needs of the students of Kaneland Unit District 302. Its mission is to support academic excellence through innovation. Since the Kaneland Foundation has no administrative costs, every dollar goes back to the students in the Kaneland district.
