Twilight 5K for kids in Vernon Hills

The Sports Shed will host a twilight 5K on Wednesday, July 29 at Century Park, at the sled hill entrance 1400 Indianwood Drive, Vernon Hills. Check-in is 7 p.m. and start time is 7:30 p.m. Race fee is $25 including a T-shirt. The nonprofit organization is working with schools and other programs to launch cross-country, track and running clubs for kids in need of an alternative to gangs and violence.
