Golf fundraiser serves up progressive meal
It's golf with a definite nosh component. No one goes home hungry or thirsty.
Taste on the Tee is a unique feature of the Schaumburg Park Foundation's Links Technology Cup golf outing on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road.
An almost-every-hole food and beverage experience, Taste is anchored by Chandler's Banquets (Ala Carte Entertainment), which hosts pizza and brat holes and a post-golf BBQ steak dinner with all the fixings and premium open bar.
All proceeds from the outing benefit the foundation's work to support recreation scholarships for park district programs. Food and beverage purveyors on the course include Riccardo's Ristorante, TopGolf, Lucky Monk, Finn McCool's, Moretti's, Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Church Street Brewery, Tilted Kilt, Lagunitas Brewery, Pinstripes, Costco, MT Barrels, Sam & Harry's of The Marriott Renaissance Schaumburg, Whole Foods Market, and Village Tavern.
Even the non-restaurant businesses get into the act with Schaumburg Bank & Trust pouring out some fun and presenting sponsor Links Technology serving up fresh fruit cups and Snickers.
Schaumburg Park District partner Pepsi will provide water and other soft drinks throughout the day. Still-hungry golfers need only flag down Morretti's roving pizza cart and the foundation's own rolling sandwich cart.
Topping off the festivities are two, hole-in-one-wins a car holes presented by Motorwerks Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates and Par Logistics.
"The food and activities throughout the day are always a hit," said Pat Casler, Schaumburg Park Foundation executive vice president. "Golfers enjoy the progressive lunch, beverages and dinner."
The event begins with check-in at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $160 per golfer, which includes practice range warm-up, 11 a.m. shotgun start, 18 holes with cart in a scramble format, golfer gift, contests, prizes, all food and beverage on the course, and the Chandler's BBQ steak dinner.
The event is open to foursomes, threesomes, twosomes and singles. Spots are limited. To register, visit schaumburgparkfoundation.org or call (847) 985-2115.
