Streamwood video gambling cafe hosts grand opening

A new Streamwood video gambling cafe, Shelby's, celebrated its grand opening Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Village President Billie Roth attended the ceremony for the cafe that houses video gambling and slot machines. The cafe also serves food and drinks and will run specials through the weekend.

Shelby's, 1588 Buttitta Road, is among seven other Streamwood establishments that house video gambling machines, including Streamwood Bowl and Stella's Place.

Shelby's and Stella's Place are both run by Laredo Hospitality.
