7 injured in I-94 crash that snarled traffic

Seven people were injured Tuesday and traffic snarled after a crash on the eastbound I-294 Edens spur near Northbrook.

All eastbound lanes were closed for about an hour after a crash around 4:25 p.m. between a 1999 Volvo truck tractor and a 2015 Chrysler Town/Country, according to a news release.

The lanes were re-opened around 5:35 p.m. another, but traffic backups were expected to continue.

The release said four people were transported to Highland Park Hospital and three others were taken to Glenbrook Hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

The cause of the crash and possible charges are not yet available.
