Northbrook's McTigue Financial Group Rallies for the Race for Childhood Cancer Research

Whether running or walking the 5K race or helping raise funds, The McTigue Financial Group is on a mission to accelerate finding a cure for childhood cancers. The Northbrook financial planning firm is joining the national Northwestern Mutual effort to raise funds for childhood cancer research in the third annual Race for Research to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 19th.

"No parent should have to hear the words, 'your child has cancer' said Scott R. Evans, Managing Director. Yet, more than 15,000 will hear those words this year, according to the National Cancer Institute. "Working together we hope to accelerate the pace of research to find a cure for childhood cancer," he added.

Northwestern Mutual launched its national Childhood Cancer Program in 2012 to accelerate cures to childhood cancer and to provide support to families battling the disease. The McTigue Financial Group in Northbrook has supported this national philanthropic program through various fundraising and awareness events in the local community.

The firm has a goal to raise $30,000 in this year's race which would fund over 600 hours of research. All donations will support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. To find out more about the race and how you can help, please visit http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1136442
