Blackhawks prospects camp starts Sunday
The Blackhawks announced that they will hold their annual prospects camp at Johnny's IceHouse, starting Sunday and running through next Friday.
Some of the bigger names expected to attend include:
• Marko Dano, the 20-year-old forward the Hawks acquired as part of the Brandon Saad trade.
• Kyle Baun, a 23-year-old winger who played with the Hawks in their final three regular-season games last season.
• Stephen Johns, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound defenseman who figures to have an excellent chance to make the team out of training camp.
• Mark McNeill and Garrett Ross, wingers who racked up 44 and 43 points, respectively, last season in Rockford.
• Ryan Haggerty, whom the Hawks acquired in a trade for goalie Antti Raanta on June 27.
• Nick Schmaltz, the Hawks' 2014 first-round pick.
• Local products Vincent Hinostroza (Bartlett), Anthony Louis (Winfield) and Roy Radke (Geneva).
All seven of the Hawks' recent draft picks also are expected to attend. Included in that group are second-round pick Graham Knott and third-rounder Dennis Gilbert.
The first practice session is set for Sunday from 10:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m. The other two sessions that day will go from 12:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m. and 2 p.m.-3:15 p.m.
All practices and scrimmages are open to the public with times subject to change.
