Schaumburg Dance Ensemble Announces Casting Auditions For Dancers In North Suburbs

The Schaumburg Dance Ensemble will hold auditions and rehearsals at the Dance Academy of Libertyville for select scenes of its annual production of the Nutcracker. Although a majority of the production will be rehearsed in Schaumburg, rehearsals for the select scenes will be held primarily on Sunday afternoons at the Academy, located at 746 E. Park Ave. in Libertyville.

The dance ensemble's production features choreography by Michele Leslie Holzman, Lisa Sheppard and Alberto Arias. Professional and non-professional roles will be cast and child and adult roles are available. The 2015 run will include twelve performances featuring over 100 dancers.

Sunday, August 23

12 pm - 1:30 pm Ages 8 - 10

Minimum 1 year classical ballet training

(8 years old by 10/1/15)

1:45 pm - 3:15 pm Ages 11-13

Minimum 2 years classical ballet training

3:30-5:15 13+

Intermediate/advanced. Minimum 3 years classical ballet training

Sunday, August 30

at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts

8:00 am - 4:00 pm Callbacks by invitation

Dancers must register ½ hour before auditions and are requested to bring a photo. Online pre-registration is recommended. A parent or guardian must attend a meeting at the start of the audition. Cast member participation fee (for those selected) is $100 for performers cast in a single role and $150 for performers cast in multiple roles.

Performances of the Nutcracker are Dec. 4 through Dec. 13 at the Prairie Center.
