Glendale Heights Fest opens five-day run

Glendale Heights Fest opened its five-day run Wednesday night in Camera Park with music, food and fireworks.

The annual celebration continues from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday in the park at 101 E. Fullerton Ave.

Among the fest's highlights: Former "American Idol" contestant Gina Glocksen performs at 8 p.m. Thursday; the band Infinity performs at 8:30 p.m. Saturday; and a closing fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
