Blackhawks return to Notre Dame for training camp
The Blackhawks announced Monday the team will, for a third straight year, return to the University of Notre Dame to open their 2015-16 training camp.
From Friday, Sept, 18, to Sunday, Sept. 20, all team practices will be held at Compton Family Ice Arena. The Hawks will return to Chicago for their annual Training Camp Festival on Monday, Sept. 21.
A complete schedule and ticket information, will be released at a later date.
The Blackhawks Training Camp Festival will be held at the United Center and the first 10,000 fans to enter the building will receive a Jonathan Toews bobblehead. The marquee event of the day will allow fans inside the arena to watch a Blackhawks training camp practice and scrimmage. All seating within the United Center will be general admission.
Tickets for the Training Camp Festival go on sale Friday, July 17, at 10 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets for $5 at chicagoblackhawks.com, at any Ticketmaster location or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Prospects deal:
The Hawks on Monday acquired forward Liam Coughlin from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Anders Nilsson.
Coughlin, 20, tallied 60 points (20 goals, 40 assists) in 54 games for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League last season. He went on to record 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 11 playoff games.
Nilsson acquired by the Hawks in 2014 from the New York Islanders played 38 regular-season games for Kazan Ak-Bars of the Kontinental Hockey League last season.
