Sign up for Elburn's 'Folks on Spokes'
The Elburn Chamber of Commerce will host its inaugural "Folks on Spokes" Sunday, Aug. 16. The money raised from the registration fees will be used to make donations to the Kaneland Blackberry Creek PTO and the Kaneland John Stewart PTO, and to purchase a community bike rack for downtown Elburn.
Mileage options are 2.5, 6 or 10 miles.
All riders are required to wear helmets. No headphones or headset radios are allowed. Illinois rules of the road will be strictly enforced. Have your bike in good working condition and choose a route suited to your ability. The chamber reserves the right to have individuals removed from the ride.
Registration fees are: single rider, $15 early registration or $20 after Aug. 1; family, $30 early registration, $40 after Aug. 1.
Mail registration form with payment to Elburn Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 305, Elburn, IL 60119. Forms and payment must be postmarked by Aug. 1 to receive the discounted early registration fee.
Alternate date for inclement weather is Sunday, Aug. 30.
On the day of the ride, check-in begins at 10 a.m. and ends at noon. Riders must be 18 years old to ride without a parent or guardian and all riders must sign a liability form on day of ride.
Wristbands and maps will be available at registration booth; all riders must display wristband.
Riders must be off the road at 2 p.m.
