Celebrate the Fourth of July with flags, friends and frozen treats
Enjoy ice cream, flags and all-American fun at the Schaumburg Park District's Independence Day: Find the Flag Scavenger Hunt.
Children ages 1 to 6 are invited to don their favorite red, white and blue outfits and search for flags from 6 to 7 p.m., July 1 at Ken Alley Safety Park, 421 N. Springinsguth Road. Participants may check in under the Community Recreation Center tent, just south of the park.
"Find the Flag brings recognition to this holiday for little ones who may not know what the Fourth of July is," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager and general program supervisor. "Come to the hunt to get your Fourth of July celebration off on the right foot!"
Activities also include patriotic-themed games and crafts.
Participants should arrive on time as the hunt will take place first. Ice cream treats will be available after the hunt.
Early registration is recommended. Cost is $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents.
