Parade for Blackhawks Thursday. Will it be bigger than 2010, 2013?

A victory parade will be held Thursday in downtown Chicago to celebrate the latest Blackhawks Stanley Cup championship.

Details about the celebration will be released later today.

The Blackhawks' 2010 and 2013 Stanley Cup wins drew about 2 million people to the Loop and Grant Park for ticker-tape parades. Fans turned downtown Chicago into a sea of red and black shirts and banners.

Throngs cheered as confetti rained down on the streets and the Blackhawks players escorted the Stanley Cup to Grant Park. There, in 2013, under a gorgeous blue sky and against a sparkling skyline, players made speeches. NHL playoffs MVP Patrick Kane gave an award to goalie Corey Crawford, calling him "the best player in the playoffs." Crawford then gave a now-famous thank you speech using a few expletives.

Metra has announced that it will run extra trains to accommodate people attending the parade.
