Don't punish taxpayers for board's excesses
On June 5, David Larson encourages state legislators to "raise our state taxes." I disagree with this assertion for 164,198 reasons.
My reasons are documented in the $164,198 pension penalty payments to the state of Illinois by District 87 for raising salaries above 6 percent to 20 percent before retirement.
We should not penalize the taxpayer with increased taxes but punish the board members who approved it.
