Mount Prospect Jaycees to host fun run

The Mount Prospect Jaycees will host the Sparkler Family Fun Run. Proceeds from the event run will be split between the Wounded Warrior Project and the Mount Prospect Jaycees chapter.

"Every day soldiers return to resume their lives within our community after fighting for our freedom. And every day 22 veterans take their own lives in our country. The Wounded Warrior Project helps to provide care for our soldiers in resuming their lives.

"They provide assistance caring for their minds, body and financial strains. I am running July 4 because I believe that we should give back to those who have so selflessly given to us," said Linda Murbach, president of the Mount Prospect Jaycees.

The Sparkler Family Fun Run has three distances: one mile beginning at 8:15 a.m., two miles beginning at 8:45 a.m. and three miles beginning at 9:30 a.m. These events are designed to be casual, open to walkers and runners, kids and adults in either event.
