Free clinic gets grant from Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

For 10 years, the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, located in Aurora, has supported the mission of TriCity Health Partnership through grants that have provided medical equipment and office equipment, a phone system, security monitoring system, medication refrigerator and most recently window coverings and a computer workstation for the new dental operatory.

The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization that administers individual charitable funds from which grants and scholarships are distributed to benefit the citizens of the greater Aurora area, the Tri-Cities and Kendall County.

"For a decade, their support has provided grants that have improved our ability to offer quality medical and now dental care to those in the local community who are low-income, uninsured and underinsured," states executive director Shannon Watson.

TriCity Health Partnership has been providing free quality medical care to central Kane County residents for over 14 years. Since opening the doors in 2001, the clinic has served 3,900 individuals with more than 22,860 on-site appointments.

Collaborating and partnering with area medical providers to include Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital and local medical professionals who are assisted by a small staff enables the partnership to provide approximately $20 in medical care for every dollar donated.

The clinic relies on funding from local trusts and foundations, United Ways, service clubs, churches, fundraising events and individual donations and does not receive state or federal funding.
