Windy City pounds Boomers

Two big innings hurt the Schaumburg Boomers on Wednesday night as the Windy City ThunderBolts pounded out 16 hits to earn a 12-8 win in Crestwood.

The Boomers (10-13) will try to split the two-game series when they take on Windy City at Standard Bank Stadium Thursday night.

A 5-run second inning gave the Boomers a brief 5-4 lead, but the ThunderBolts tied it up in the fourth and blew it open with a 6-run effort in the seventh. Kamakani Usui took the loss for the Boomers, giving up 4 runs on 4 hits in relief.
