Benedictine University to name new president
The 11th president in the history of Lisle's Benedictine University will be introduced at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, in the school's Birck Hall of Science, officials said Friday.
The president-elect is an educator chosen from a field of national candidates to succeed William J. Carroll, who announced in January that he would step down after leading Benedictine for the past 20 years, school officials said in a news release.
Officials said the appointment concludes an "extensive search" that included a vetting process by a committee of administrators, faculty, staff and members of the board of trustees along with face-to-face question-and-answer sessions with faculty and staff.
