June Events at the Northbrook Library

Summer fun is officially in full swing at the Northbrook Public Library! With lectures, music performances, and tons of programs for kids and families, there is no shortage of things to do. Here's a snapshot of what's coming up at the Library this month:

Summer Reading Club

June 1-July 31

Kids, teens, and adults alike can join one of the Library's Summer Reading Clubs! Visit the Library to register. Read books and win prizes!

Parisian Salon Concert

June 5, 7:30pm

Bring your library card to register, and you could leave the concert with Ravinia Lawn Passes!

Make It! Month Kick Off: Bike Safety + Bling Your Bike

June 6, 9:30am

Bring your bike for a free inspection and a free EL wire kit and glow in the dark spoke beads, while supplies last.

Grand Opening

June 13 (10:00am) and June 14 (1:00pm)

Join us for live music, tours of the renovated spaces, performances for kids, crafts, refreshments, and more! No registration required.

Chicago YIVO- Steve Gibbons Gypsy Rhythm Project

June 16, 2:00pm

Violinist Steve Gibons and his ensemble perform a lively melange of Klezmer, Balkan, and Roma music that evokes smiles and cheers.

Earth-Friendly Yards

June 16, 7:00pm

Learn how neighborhood garden pathways help native birds and butterflies survive, plus ways to maintain your own earth-friendly yard. Co-sponsored by Go Green Northbrook. No registration required.

StoryFest: Pete the Cat

June 19, 3:30pm

Do your kids love Pete the Cat? Come to the Library for an afternoon of songs, stories, crafts, and snacks! Registration required.

Ralph's World

June 20, 10:30am

Grammy-nominated kindie rocker Ralph Covert comes to the Library! No registration required.

Up for Discussion: The Power of Habit

June 25, 1:00pm

Chicago YIVO- Irving Berlin: The Ultimate Immigrant

June 30, 7:00pm

Berlin's incredible story, from his entry into America at age 5, overcoming early poverty and musical illiteracy, to his emergence as our greatest American songwriter!
