Blackhawks send it to overtime but lose 5-4

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks beat the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime 5-4 in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals Monday night at the Honda Center to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Matt Beleskey pounded in the game-winner just 45 seconds into overtime on a rebound off a shot by Ryan Kesler.

The Hawks had trimmed a quick Ducks 3-0 lead in the first period to 3-2 thanks to goals by Teuvo Teravainen (1:11 of the second) and Brent Seabrook (19:35 of the second). Patrick Maroon, though, put the Ducks up 4-2 with 5:15 left off a gorgeous feed from Sami Vatanen.

Then Jonathan Toews scored two goals with 1:50 and 38 seconds remaining in the game to tie it.
