Hampshire 2, Richmond-Burton 0: Haley Widmayer fired a 2-hitter with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks, while Peyton DeChant and Lauren Egger had 2 hits each and Renee Malecke drove in a run to lead the Whip-Purs (12-15) to a nonconference win.
Burlington Central 11, Momence 3: Winning pitcher Emily Kisch was 4-for-5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI and Kelly Wiater had a 3-run triple as the Rockets (15-12) rolled to a win in the opening round of the IC Catholic tournament. Alyssa Mish added a double for BC and Jill Neisendorf had 2 RBI.
West Aurora 9, South Elgin 7: Taylor Ford had a 3-run triple on senior day for the Storm (11-15, 9-9) in the Upstate Eight Valley. Amber Derr and Alexa Rogalla each added 2 hits for South Elgin. Karli Dobler was the losing pitcher.
Cary-Grove 9, Taft 5: At the Fenton tournament, Caitlyn Adams was 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI to lead the Trojans (8-15). Grace Pilz also went 3-for-4 with an RBI for C-G. Amanda DeGroote picked up the win in the circle.
Batavia 8, Larkin 0: Haley Bohne was 3-for-3 for Larkin (5-21, 4-13) in its Upstate Eight River loss. Sarah Hansen was the losing pitcher.
