Long jump title for Nicholson
Joslyn Nicholson scored a long jump national title with her effort Friday in the NJCAA Division III track and field championships in Utica, N.Y.
Nicholson, a graduate of Cary-Grove High School, jumped 5.19 meters to take top honors in the event, on the heels of a victory in the hammer throw and a runner-up finish in the triple jump on Thursday.
Nicholson's teammate Leah Kloss finished fourth in the long jump (5.08m), and Lori Delfin placed fourth in the 10,000-meter run (44:46.68).
In the men's 10,000, Harper got a 2-3-4 finish from Juan Barajas (33:54.14), Emil Kozakiewicz (35:08.13) and Adam Brauer (35:34.69).
