Learn about wetland plants

Wetland plants from bog buckbean to carnivorous pitcher plants will be discussed from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at an indoor/outdoor workshop at Volo Bog State Natural Area, 28478 W. Brandenburg Road, Ingleside. The program begins inside with a self-paced look at herbarium specimens and note-taking, then moves outside to find living examples. Participants will share their discoveries in an informal interactive setting. Bring a sack lunch and any favorite references. Adults and interested kids age 11 and up are welcome. Registration is requested at (815) 344-1294 or dnr.volobog@illinois.gov. Group size is limited. Walk-ins welcome if space allows. Walk may be canceled if minimum registration is not met 24 hours prior.
