Crash on westbound I-90 at Rt. 53 snarls traffic; truck rolls over near Marengo

Illinois State Police reported two crashes that occurred late Friday afternoon.

Police said a two-car crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. Friday in the westbound lanes of I-90 at the I-355/Route 53 interchange near Schaumburg.

Police reported that parties in both cars refused medical treatment.

Another crash, police said, involved a semitrailer truck that overturned after turning from eastbound I-90 onto the ramp leading to U.S. Route 20. The driver, police said, was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Crews were still on scene at about 7:30 p.m., well after the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m.
