'It doesn't look good' for injured Rozsival
ST. PAUL, Minn. - There was some bad news for the Blackhawks on Thursday as they lost defenseman Michal Rozsival in the second period of Game 4 against the Wild to an apparent ankle injury. Rozsival lost his balance, came down awkwardly and was unable to put any pressure on his foot while being helped off the ice by teammates and into the locker room by trainers.
"It doesn't look good," coach Joel Quenneville said after the game.
If he's out for an extended period of time, it likely means either David Rundblad or Kyle Cumiskey will be forced into action and 40-year-old Kimmo Timonen's minutes may increase significantly.
Trevor van Riemsdyk isn't an option as he had hand surgery a month ago and was expected to miss eight weeks.
Rozsival was averaging 18:34 of ice time in the first nine games of the playoffs.
