Buffalo Grove downs Prospect in 2

Buffalo Grove remained unbeaten in Mid-Suburban East boys volleyball after a 25-15, 25-17 victory over visiting Prospect on Tuesday.

Athan Cruz, Alex Pietras and Kevin Shanahan each finished with 3 kills for the Bison (16-3, 3-0), and Zach Schnittker had 8 setting assists.

Alex Blethen and Dane Schweinzger both had 5 kills to lead the Prospect attack, while Liam Benson had a team-best 11 digs and Kyle Gerber provided 18 setting assists.

Barrington d. Hoffman Estates: The host Broncos stayed perfect in MSL West play with a 25-23, 25-11 decision against the Hawks.

Noah Ricchetti had 12 assists and Matt Rowley had 9 for Barrington, while Mikey Stefan and Justin Glader each came up with 7 kills, Conner Shoults served 3 aces and had 5 digs and TJ Murray had a pair of blocks.

Hersey d. Rolling Meadows: Angelo Coniglio led host Hersey with 6 kills and Kevin Messer provided 6 digs to help the Huskies (9-2, 2-1) prevail in MSL East play. Peter Wesolowski led Hersey with 15 assists on 26-for-26 setting.

Tommy Murphy had 9 kills and Enrique Avelleneda had a team-best 7 assist on 39-for-39 setting for the Mustangs.

Elk Grove d. Wheeling: The host Grenadiers got a big effort from Sam Jasutis (5 blocks, 3 kills) and Jacob Beck (team-best 4 kills on 8-for-10 hitting) in a 25-15, 25-17 victory in MSL East action. Ray Kraus set the offense with 13 assists and also served 11-for-13 with 4 aces for Elk Grove (8-2, 2-1).
