Crystal Lake man charged in motel robbery

A Crystal Lake man has been charged with armed robbery after he used a knife to rob a motel, police said Monday. On Saturday, a man jumped the counter at the Super 8 Motel, 577 Crystal Point Drive, and demanded money from the clerk, taking about $1,200, police said in a news release.

After interviewing witnesses and reviewing security tape, police developed a suspect. They secured a warrant and early Sunday arrested Trent James Keegan, 21. A judge set his bail at $250,000. He's expected to appear in court again Wednesday. ​
