Visitors get a touch of farm living at Kane County event

Children hopped aboard antique tractors, checked out modern farm equipment shelled corn and visited with farm animals Sunday during the Kane County Farm Bureau's 10th annual Touch A Tractor event in St. Charles.

The three-day event, held on the front lawn of the Kane County Farm Bureau on Randall Road, benefited the Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation Ag Literacy and Scholarship Programs.

As part of the Harvest for All hunger relief effort, visitors dropped off nonperishable food items, which earned them an extra raffle entry for a pedal tractor. The food will be donated to a local food pantry.

Liam Becker, 1½, works the pedals with his hands Sunday at the Kane County Farm Bureau's 10th annual Touch a Tractor event in St. Charles. He came from Wheaton with his mother, Kari, for the event. John Starks/jstarks@dailyherald.com
