Jeri Pollock Brings Vibrant Art Quilting to the David Adler Music and Arts Center

The David Adler Music and Arts Center will host local artist Jeri Pollock's exhibit: "Stitched: The Art of Fiber" this April as part of its ongoing Exhibit Series. Ms. Pollock's embroidery, needlepoint, crewel work, and trapunto will be on display beginning April 10, 2015.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 10, from 5-9pm at the David Adler Center. This is a unique opportunity to meet Jeri Pollock and explore the Adler Center. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.

"Our exhibit openings are a great opportunity to meet new people, meet the artist, and to see wonderful art for free," says Amy Williams, Executive Director. The David Adler Music and Arts Center is committed to hosting free exhibit openings as part of its continued commitment to making the arts an integral part of life in our community.

Jeri Pollock is a member of the Studio Art Quilters Association. "My art grows out of my passion for needlework of all types," writes Pollock. "[I use] dozens of steps: dyeing, painting, printing, stenciling, stitching. Each step builds layers, depth, and texture as the work evolves into its final form." Her pieces are recognized for their complexity and intuitive craftsmanship.

Visit "Stitched: The Art of Fiber" through May 10th at the David Adler Music and Arts Center, Mon-Thurs from 9:00 am - 8:30 pm, Saturdays from 9:00 am-2:00 pm. The entire exhibition is free and open to the public.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The David Adler Music and Arts Center is located at 1700 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.
