Other states' gas prices shame Illinois

It's amazing how we get it stuck to us in Illinois and in particular the Chicago area on the cost of gasoline.

A recent Saturday I had to go to a funeral in Elkhart, Wisconsin, and on the way back, I gassed up in Lake Geneva.

The price of gas there was $2.35 a gallon. When I got back to Mount Prospect it was $2.89 a gallon.

It just goes to show you how we get hit every time here in the Chicago area and in Illinois. I'm proud to say that any time I go anywhere out of this state, I make sure I don't gas up here and put it into the local economy because they know how to gouge.

I put it in another state's pocket where they appreciate it.
