Candidate devoted to helping others
Schaumburg is an exceptional community which I have called home since 1968. I feel grateful to be a part of this community and thankful for all the resources we have.
We wanted these same benefits for our daughters, which is why after living elsewhere for three years, my husband and I moved back to raise them. We can attribute much of our daughters' success to the many library programs and services they were able to use throughout their school years.
My husband and I still regularly use the library. That is why on April 7, I am voting for Jillian Rose Bernas for Schaumburg Township Library trustee.
She is a highly-qualified, service-oriented, compassionate and committed individual, everything you hope for in an elected official. Jillian took the strong foundation Schaumburg provided her and went far in her studies at Saint Mary's College, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Chicago, and in her career as a teacher and in international business.
I remember Jillian in high school, volunteering with the children at our church, and then seeing her take that spirit of volunteerism, using her talents as a teacher and coach. Jillian puts others before herself.
She helped me out with summer programs when she could have enjoyed her summer and continues to go out of her way to help others in the many organizations where she volunteers her time and resources.
I could always count on her to follow through on her commitments. Jillian is someone you can trust. I know that she is ready to lead because of her academic and professional experience combined with her commitment to service.
She will be a great addition to the Schaumburg Township District Library board.
