Bartlett woman charged with stabbing 65-year-old man

A Bartlett woman faces a charge of felony aggravated domestic battery after police say she stabbed a 65-year-old man with a kitchen knife in their home Sunday.

The man was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, where police said he was in stable condition.

Jennifer M. Behnen, 32, of the 800 block of Maple Lane, was arrested at the home and appeared in court Monday, when Cook County Judge Joel Greenblatt set bail at $20,000. Greenblatt also ordered Behnen to undergo a medical evaluation and be placed on GPS monitoring if she posts bond.

Police said officers were called to the residence about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in regards to a domestic incident. Police would not disclose Behnen's relationship to the stabbing victim or a motive behind the stabbing. Police also wouldn't say where the man was stabbed, but said he is expected to survive.
