Trader Joe's now open in Schaumburg

Trader Joe's opened a 12,600-square-foot store at 1426 E. Golf Road in Schaumburg with a short ceremony at 8 a.m. today.

In response to strong interest from residents, Schaumburg officials had long pursued bringing a Trader Joe's to the village.

Trader Joe's began in 1958 in the Los Angeles area. Since then, it has expanded to more than 400 stores in 35 states, including more than 20 locations in the Chicago area.
