BG works OT to edge Hersey
Buffalo Grove outlasted visiting Hersey in girls water polo on Wednesday, getting the decisive goal in the fifth extra period in a 13-12 Mid-Suburban East victory.
Hersey's top scorers were Katie Lutz (4), Steph Surkin (4) and Kat Gorey (2).
Fremd 16, Barrington 11: Tami Carlson and Emma Hoffman scored 10 goals between them to help visiting Fremd produce a 16-11 victory over Barrington on Wednesday in Mid-Suburban West girls water polo.
Megan Younker had 3 goals and Emily Kini 2 for the Vikings and Emma Jeronimus stopped 6 shots.
Mia Latimer generated the bulk of the scoring for Barrington with 7 goals.
Palatine 14, Hoffman Estates 2: Caroline Wojtas had 7 goals and 4 steals to help the host Pirates earn an MSL West win.
Tess O'Brien scored twice and made 4 saves in goal, and Maggie Terzic stopped 5 shots.
Also finding the net for Palatine were Caitlin McHugh, Kristin Anderson, Mathilde Mogensen, Kelsey Hank and Hannah Jozefat.
Jenny Fermainnt had both goals for the visiting Hawks.
Lake Forest 13, Maine West 9: A 5-1 Scouts advantage early in the game was too much for the Warriors to overcome in a nonconference loss.
