Schaumburg's Motorola Solutions invests in drones
Schaumburg-based Motorola Solutions said today that it is making an undisclosed investment in a company that makes drones.
Danvers, Massachusetts-based CyPhy Works makes unmanned aerial vehicles, known as drones. The company was founded by Helen Greiner, who is also co-founder of the iRobot products that vacuum homes without human assistance.
“Real-time information is a powerful tool for our public safety and commercial customers,” said Paul Steinberg, chief technology officer at Motorola Solutions.
CyPhy Works offers “no-pilot” hardware systems, autopilot and control software, uninterrupted high-definition and infrared imaging, and laser measurement sensors.
