Bond set at $500,000 for man in Wauconda stabbing
A Lake County judge set bond at $500,000 Saturday morning for a Wauconda man police say threatened to hurt his wife and then stabbed her in the hand.
Luis Morales, 24, of the 1100 block of Northshore Drive, is charged with charges of attempted aggravated kidnapping, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He remained in Lake County jail Saturday afternoon; he must post $50,000 to be released.
The charges stem from a domestic situation that occurred at the couple's Wauconda home at around 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to news release from the Wauconda Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found Morales' 21-year-old wife with a cut to her left hand, the release said. The woman said Morales had been served with an order of protection on Thursday, police said. The woman was treated for her injuries and released.
