Jets re-sign long snapper Purdum to 2-year deal

NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Jets have re-signed long snapper Tanner Purdum to a two-year contract.

Purdum has been with the Jets for five seasons after signing with New York in 2010 and replacing long-time long snapper James Dearth.

Purdum, an unrestricted free agent, has made 783 snaps on punt and field goals over 83 regular- and postseason games without a fumble, wild snap or penalty, according to the Jets.

He previously spent the 2009 offseason with Kansas City after being an undrafted free agent out of Baker University in 2008.
