Former mayor supports Dussling for Dist. 214 board
Bill Dussling has a proven record of public service. His service includes time in the military as a Vietnam veteran helicopter pilot, board member of OMNI Youth Services and the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization, volunteer for Arlington Heights Frontier Days, lector at St. Edna Church and coached in the Arlington Heights Youth Basketball Program.
In addition, he has served on the District 214 Board of Education for the past 17 years, where he has been vice president for two years and president for seven years, including the last two.
All six District 214 high schools are rated in the top 35 out of over 600 high schools in Illinois and nationally in the top 32 of the most challenging high schools. Schools rated as high as those in District 214 happen because the board of education understands that the community wants their children to experience an outstanding education including academics, fine arts, athletics and co-curricular activities. People move to the communities served by District 214 to have their children educated in top high schools.
I am proud of Bill Dussling's service on 214's board. He focuses on improving the already challenging district programs and curricula to provide students an outstanding education evidenced by a district ACT score of 23.5 - significantly higher than state and national levels. He balances that with a strong sense of fiscal accountability. Consider that there has been no district tax referendum in the last 43 years and the operating budget has been in balance for 18 straight years.
Bill believes that providing our children with a superior education is absolutely necessary for the community and the country with strong fiscal accountability. I am voting for Bill Dussling on April 7 and hope that you join me with your vote.
