Hinchcliffe to be sponsored by Arrow Electronics at SPM
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has signed technology company Arrow Electronics as primary sponsor for new driver James Hinchcliffe.
Arrow worked with Sam Schmidt last year on machine-to-machine technologies that enabled the team owner to drive a modified Corvette at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last May. Schmidt has been a quadriplegic since a 2000 accident during IndyCar practice.
Hinchcliffe joined SPM during the offseason to replace Simon Pagenaud in the No. 77 Honda. But the team is changing the car to No. 5 to mark Arrow's "Five Years Out" initiative.
Arrow Electronics is a global provider of products, services and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions.
Arrow is a supply channel partner for more than 100,000 original equipment manufacturers in 56 countries.
