Speed up baseball? Totally unnecessary.

I don't see why major-league baseball wants to speed up the pace of the game.

Watching players spit, chew sunflower seeds and unwrap and rewrap their gloves every time they stand near the batter's box can be quite entertaining.

What I don't understand is why they keep score.
