District 54 to host recycling event April 18

Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54, the village of Schaumburg and the Schaumburg Township District Library will host a free recycling event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Rafferty Administration Center, 524 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

Among the items that will be accepted for recycling are most electronics, books, clothing, batteries, holiday lights, motor oil and antifreeze, bicycles, wheelchairs, sewing machines, compact fluorescent light bulbs, cellular and other wireless devices, eyeglasses, American flags and fire extinguishers.

Paint, gas, paint thinner and other hazardous waste will not be accepted.
