Regan Smith to again replace Busch for Stewart-Haas Racing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Regan Smith will again replace Kurt Busch this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Busch was suspended two days before the Feb. 22 season-opening Daytona 500. Smith was named interim driver of the No. 41 Chevrolet for Daytona and Sunday's race at Atlanta.

Stewart-Haas Racing said Monday that Smith will compete at Las Vegas. A driver for the March 15 race at Phoenix and any races beyond has not been determined.

Busch is indefinitely suspended by NASCAR after a judge ruled it was likely that Busch committed an act of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend. NASCAR said Monday that Busch has agreed to follow its guidelines for an eventual reinstatement.

Smith has five previous Sprint Cup Series starts at Las Vegas. Most recently, he was 15th in 2012.
