Woman pleads to battery in Mount Prospect sex abuse case
A 23-year-old Chicago woman charged with molesting a 14-year-old Mount Prospect girl pleaded guilty to aggravated battery, court records show.
Jesenia Escobedo was originally charged with aggravated sexual abuse. In exchange for her guilty plea to the amended charge Tuesday, she was sentenced to six months in Cook County jail and two years probation, court records show.
She was also ordered to pay $649 in fines.
Prosecutors say the girl's mother contacted police after she discovered explicit text messages Escobedo sent to her daughter.
