Explore Spring Valley in a new way - off the trail

Experience a guided nature tour at Spring Valley Nature Center, the Schaumburg Park District's 135-acre nature preserve.

See the beauty of a winter landscape at the Snowshoe Ramble from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Feb. 14 at the Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The hike will be followed by a story and hot chocolate.

"Participants won't learn only how to put on the shoes and walk," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation services at Spring Valley. "They'll search for signs of wildlife and learn about nature in the area."

If there's no snow, participants still will explore.

Cost is $10 for a resident family of four and $15 for a non-resident family of four. Individuals or additional family members may pay at the door ($2.50/$3).
