Schaumburg A.M. Rotary welcomes Frost Jr. High Interact Board Members

Schaumburg A.M. Rotarians symbolically inducted the Robert Frost Jr. High School's 14/15 Interact Club Board of Directors at its January 21st breakfast meeting. Frost Principal Scott Ross and special services teacher Julie Basch, one of 4 Interact faculty advisors, also attended. Schaumburg A.M. Rotary is the proud sponsor of this group that has more than 90 student members and is the school's largest extracurricular organization.

Principal Ross expressed his thanks to Rotarians for their support of this student-led organization that has been involved in a variety of service projects since the start of the 14/15 school year including a holiday season Adopt-A-Family program that benefited 8 Frost families needing assistance; participating in a food drive competition between School Dist. 54 junior high schools that will benefit the Mead Jr. High food pantry and sharing pen pal letters with students in Belize.

Frost Interact representatives were guests of Schaumburg A.M. Rotary at the January 7th dinner meeting welcoming 14/15 Rotary International President Gary C.K. Huang and his wife, Corinna to the Cotillion Banquets in Palatine.

Interact is a club for young people ages 12 to 18 who want to join together to tackle issues in their community. Students involved with Interact carry out hands-on service projects, make international connections, learn leadership skills, make friends and have fun! To date there are more than 17,000 Interact clubs with 395,000 plus members worldwide.

Membership in Rotary runs the spectrum from young professionals to retired seniors looking for opportunities to make a difference in their community. Schaumburg A.M. Rotary, a multi-generational group of men and women, meets every Wednesday morning at 7:00 am at the Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club in Hoffman Estates.
