Snowmobiler hurt in Fox River Grove

Fox River Grove fire officials said a snowmobiler was taken to the hospital after a crash Friday night. Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the man was riding along the river near the Route 14 bridge when he lost control of his vehicle, authorities said.

The man went into a skid, pushed off the snowmobile and struck the boat pier on the north side of the bridge, authorities said.

The man was conscious but in a lot of pain, authorities said. He was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington.
